How does the setting affect what is happening in the book?

The setting plays a very crucial part in the book Friday Night Lights.  The book takes place in Texas.  The high school football team is the most winning high school team in Texas History.  If this had taken place somewhere else in the country they might not have been the most winning team in there state.  I think that because they are the most winning team in the state that gives the players motivation to go out and try to win every game.  Also if they were in a different town maybe some of the bad things that happened to some of the characters would not have happened.

What does the dialogue tell me about the characters?

The dialogue in the book Friday Night Lights tells me that the characters in the book are very brave and the never back down when times get tough.  Most of the characters in this book are very determined and try to achieve their goals.  I really like the characters in this book.  This book has some of the best characters out of all of the books that I have read.

What is the authors message?

I believe that the authors message in the book Friday Night Lights is to never give up on your dreams.  No matter how tough things get never give up and to always try to achieve your goals.  This book teaches you how to be successful.  This book is great to read if you need motivation to achieve your goals.

What could I take away from todays reading to improve my life?

I learned a lot from todays reading of the book Friday Night Lights.  The characters in this book come from a small town which is similar to me.  Some tragic this happened to them in this book.  So I learned not to take a single day for granite.  I learned how good of a life that I have and how good of a town that I live in.  Any person can learn a lot from the book Friday Night Lights.

How do I feel at the end of the reading today?

I am about half way through the book Friday Night Lights.  It is a very good book so far.  I really like the plot and the setting.  The book is about a high school football team from West Texas.  They are the winning team in Texas history.  The team goes through their ups and their downs.  The team goes through some problems.  This book is very good and I enjoy reading it.  This book is probably one of the best books that I have ever read.

If I had to suggest this book to a friend, what would i say that it is mostely about?

If I had to suggest this book to a friend I would say that the book that I am currently reading is about the life of Hall of Fame pitcher Red Faber.  It tells the story of how he grew up and how he came to love the game of baseball.  He played most of his career with the Chicago White Sox and he won a World Series with them.  He pitched game six of the 1917 World Series which was the last game.  So he closed out the 1917 World Series.  Red Faber was famous for throwing a pitch called the "spitball."  People say that he was feared by every batsman.

What is one small detail that, if changed, might change the outcome of the story?

One small detail that, if changed, might change the outcome of the story is Red Faber playing for the Chicago White Sox.  His career could have gone completely different if he had played for a different team.  Maybe he would have done better or maybe he would have done worse. I think that this detail would change the story.

If i was stranded on a desert island, wich character would I want with me?

So right now I am reading a biography of the Hall of Fame baseball player Red Faber.  He was a pitcher who played most of his career with the Chicago White Sox.  I would chose him to be with me on the desert island because it says in the book that some of his hobbies when he was growing up were hunting and fishing.  If I'm stranded on the island I would need a way to get food.  I like fishing but I am not that big of a hunter.  That would be were Red Faber would come in.  He could hunt for our food.  I think that Red Faber would be a good person to be stranded with on a desert island.  So I would chose him.

3 big questions that i have about Hitch

One of the questions that I have is how did Moss' father get so troubled? In the book it says that Moss' father is an alcoholic and when Moss' goes out and finds him, he finds him drunk.  Another question that I have is why is how did his family get so poor that Moss had to go out on his own?  Another question is why does Moss not stay in touch with his father before he went out and found him?  These are three big questions that I have right now.

Setting

The setting hugely affects what is happening in the book hitch because the story takes place during the Great Depression which was a time of poverty for the United States.  If this story did not take place during the great depression then it might have been easier for Moss to make some money.  Moss also has to relocate a few times so that also makes it a little harder on him.  The setting plays a huge role in the book Hitch.

Hitch

I am very close to being done with the book Hitch by Jeanette Ingold.  This was a very good book.  I really enjoyed reading the book.  This book was probably one of the best books that I have read.  This book had a great story line to it.  I would suggest this book to teenagers and young adults because the main character is a teenager.  This book was a very good read.

Where am at in the book Hitch?

Well I am a little over half way in the book.  This book is very good so far.  I think this is one of the best books that I have read in a while.  The story is very interesting and it makes you want to keep on reading.  I really like the main character in the book, his name is Moss Trawnley.  He is a very brave kid and he is also very kind.  He is able to do things on his own and not need anybodys help.  When he gets fired form his job he does not give up.  He still tries to find a job and afford technical school, so he signs up with president Roosevelt's Civilian Conservation Corps.  This will at least give him food and a roof over his head.  This book is very good so far and I suggest this book for all ages because it is very well written.

New Book

So I am just staring a new book called Hitch by Jeanette Ingold. It looks very good. I read the back and it sounds like a very interesting story. Its about a seventeen year-old kid who has been excepted to technical school. He is trying to save up for tuition to go to the school when suddenly he gets fired from his job and his dreams are crushed. I am very interested to find out what happens in the story. I hope this book has a lot of action in it. It sounds like it will be a very good book.

Mood

The mood at the beginning of the book River Rats is kind of sad because the kids are orphans who were abandon on a ship, just after they escaped the nuclear holocaust. The mood starts to get happy when the kids take over the ship but the kids have to deliver mail in exchange for food. I would say that the overall mood of the book is sad just because of the situation that the kids are in.

Authors Message

I believe that the authors message in the book River Rats is to be brave and do not give up when you are facing a big challenge. The kids on the ship face a huge challenge when they get abandon. So they try to take over the ship and the succeed. Another message that I believe the author is sending is to be courageous. The kids never back down when they are facing something hard. The kids are very good at facing challenges. The characters in this book had some very good traits. This book was very well written and I think that it is obvious what the authors message is.

Would I choose the main character to be my friend?

I would choose the main character in the book River Rats to be my friend because he is very smart and he has good survival skills.  He is very courageous and he is a very outgoing person, which are all great qualities for a friend.  He has all kinds of different traits.  He is very kind to everyone and he is a great leader.  The main character in the book River Rats would be a great friend because he is a great person.

If I had to suggest the book River Rats to a friend I would say that it is mostly about a group of orphans who escaped the nuclear holocaust.  They are traveling on a boat that hosts rock-and-roll concerts.  I am not very far into the book but that is what is currently happening.

Setting

The setting from the first story in the book Paintings from the cave does affect what is happening in the book.  The main character Jake lives in a very bad part of town were there is drug dealers and a lot of bad influences.  He lives in a part of town were not very many people go to school.  Jake dropped out of school.  The setting really affects what happens in the story.

The main character of the book Paintings From the Cave is Jake.  Jake is a teenager.  He is a very brave kid because he lives in a town with a lot of bad influences.  There is people selling drugs and all kinds of bad things.  Jake is dropped out of school right now but he says maybe not for long.  Jake is very street smart. He knows his way around the town.
